At Holmesglen, we are dedicated to supporting the next generation of women entering the trades industry.

The CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways course brings you a step closer to securing your future in one of Australia’s largest industries, in just 12 weeks.

The construction industry can provide job security and stability flexibility and the opportunity to start your own business and be your own boss.

Holmesglen is committed to boosting the number of women in traditionally male-dominated industries breaking down biases and ensuring that all people feel comfortable to participate in the career of their choice.

Women currently make up a small percentage of the total workforce in trades and only account for approximately 2% of workers in construction. We are working on initiatives to ensure that more women feel ready to enter and remain in the construction workforce.

With Victorian Government support and backing from industry, the CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways is designed to support and mentor women and non-binary individuals wanting to join the construction industry. The course is delivered over 12 weeks with flexible hours and a dedicated mentor to provide support and mentorship during and after the course.

Within a supportive and inclusive learning environment, you will learn how to:

  • apply best work, health and safety practices
  • use carpentry and construction tools
  • perform basic demolition
  • carry out simple concreting

At the completion of this course, you will have an understanding of building skills and principles, and experience in real-world working environments. You will have gained employability skills for the construction sector and be well prepared to begin an apprenticeship and your dream trade.
