The CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways - Women in Trades at Holmesglen is a unique opportunity designed for women seeking a career in the construction industry. This 18-week, part-time course includes two days of classes each week, with both theoretical and practical lessons. You’ll gain foundational skills in construction, focusing on safety, tool handling, and equipment use, with real-world scenarios simulated in our well-equipped facilities. Starting with essential core units, you’ll apply your learning to practical projects like tiling, then advance to more complex carpentry, joinery, and painting projects. Our expert teachers bring industry experience directly to the classroom, guiding you through each stage. Completing this course will give you credits towards a Certificate III qualification and prepare you to enter an apprenticeship confidently.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years old<p>Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. <br>These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. The General Services Fee (GSF) at Holmesglen is a mandatory annual fee applicable to all students enrolled in Certificate I through Advanced Diploma courses. Additional Course Cost

Students will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when undertaking practical activities and attending site visits. The personal protective equipment and course materials students will be required to supply are: <br>Safety boots (steel capped, ankle height) <br>Work pants <br>Work shirt <br>Safety Gloves (if handling building materials) Fold out ruler, Notebook, HB Pencil, Biro, eraser <br>BYO Device-Laptop $400 <br>The total cost of these items is between $500 - $650 <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.

All fees are indicative only. Your fees will be calculated on your individual circumstances at the time of enrolment.
