The training will cover all aspects of running a business, including market research, legal and taxation requirements, planning your marketing, branding and social media, financial planning, customer interaction, identifying business risks and gaining the correct insurance.
During the program, you will develop a comprehensive business plan and a two-year financial plan to help guide you to reach your goals.
For eligible candidates all these services are free of cost.
In addition:
- Participants on an eligible Centrelink benefit attract 25 PBAS points per week attended during this training, effectively exempting you from other work efforts during the training dates (maximum of eight weeks)
- These participants may also attract a special Allowance if they proceed to start the business and are offered a Small Business Coaching Agreement. That will be based on if Holmesglen and the funding department assess the business has a sound chance of becoming viable and making a good profit
- You do not have to be on a Centrelink payment but must meet basic eligibility of being able to participate in the training and aspire to run a successful, financially viable business within the next 12 months, in Australia
- Non-Centrelink participants can also proceed to coaching if appropriate, but do not attract an Allowance
- All participants may attract an initial $300 rebate on business expenses if they are accepted for the Coaching services.
Holmesglen provides Small Business Training linked to the Certificate, primarily in an online classroom/blended learning mode, normally between the hours of 10am to 3pm on three or four days per week, subject to the specific timetable.
We also offer the Skill Set based Small Business Training in a shorter period, with an option also for afternoon/evening and some Saturday classes online.
All our training is facilitated by experts and offers you time for your own questions, with one-on-one support when needed and review points to ensure you are receiving maximum guidance.
The training may also be offered in specific locations face-to-face, depending on your needs and the enrolment numbers.
We can still support your needs, even if you cannot attend every single day of our Small Business Training program.
See the schedule for proposed Self-Employment Assistance Business Training Dates.
