Sam creates his art business with NEIS
The chance to turn his artistic passions into a career led Sam Brooks to the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS)
. Now his artwork has national reach.
Sam Brooks Commission Art lets him turn creativity into custom artwork through an international print on-demand service. Sam’s artistic career has also seen him progress to painting large murals – work which has taken him across Australia.
“The idea that someone would actually pay me to fly around Australia and paint giant artworks for their community is pretty cool,” Sam says.
Sam found NEIS on the recommendation of his uncle, who used the program to create his industrial electrical company over 30 years ago. The New Business Assistance with NEIS supports job seekers who want to start their own business. This allowed Sam to receive small business management training and access mentors.
Empowered by the knowledge he received, Sam reached an early business milestone. He was commissioned to paint a commemorative mural for the Holden manufacturing plant in South Australia.
“Being given the opportunity to create something of such significance to the community, and [contribute to] the history of South Australia is very humbling and talent affirming,” says Sam.
Sam hopes to expand his work into different fine art markets in the future.
