Holmesglen understands that despite the lifting of restrictions, many of our students are still experiencing financial hardship. If you are having difficulty affording or accessing food, please contact us to discuss your circumstances and the different ways that we can help. Holmesglen is continuing to provide frozen meals and pantry items to students in need, with the kind support of our community partners.

If you are a Holmesglen student experiencing financial hardship due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts, we offer a range of options to assist with paying your tuition fees.

  • New students or students with currently outstanding fees may enter into a payment plan contract to assist with fee payments.  
  • Students already on a payment plan may apply to defer their next instalments for a period or reduce the instalment amounts payable and extend the term under their current payment plans.

A range of scholarship and grant options are available to students experiencing hardship. Before applying, learners should ensure they meet the relevant eligibility and selection criteria, as well as observe any opening and closing dates.

Holmesglen has a professional financial counsellor available to provide free, confidential advice to all students, both local and international. To find out more about the service, visit our financial counselling page. You can book an appointment online by emailing or phoning 9564 1649.

If you have been tested for Coronavirus or have been in contact with a case of the virus, please notify the Institute immediately by calling the dedicated Holmesglen Information Line on 9564 1900. Phone lines are open 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.

It is important that you also stay away from campus and follow government advice.
If you have tested negative and are well enough or cleared to return to campus, let us know by calling the dedicated information line.

If you test positive from either a PCR or RAT then you must notify the Institute as a priority. Call our hotline on 9564 1900 or email

Our Online Community is available 24/7 to keep you engaged with your classmates and peers. We’ve also created videos, articles and discussion groups to help you navigate working remotely, or simply to make the most of your Holmesglen experience. Keep an eye out for new groups, free webinars and helpful tips.

Our Skills and Jobs Centre is a free service to all students. Our career advisors can help you identify your career goals in line with your skills, strengths and interests. Support includes career counselling, developing a career plan, and workshops. To gain work experience, we can help you find and apply for:
  • practical placements
  • volunteer work
  • internships
  • professional employment programs.

The Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) website has information for apprentices and trainees who have been suspended or lost their job and need help. Visit the DET information here.

The National Apprentice Employment Network has developed a register to connect apprentices and trainees who have lost their jobs with new employers. Register with the network here.
