GRADUATION AND AWARDS

Individual Achievement Award

Celebrating the achievements of our valued students and staff.

Winner – Azam Khan

Certificate I in Work Education

Azam’s enthusiasm for growing and cultivating plants is infectious. He could make anyone excited about horticulture.

Yet Azam’s journey to pursue his passion was a difficult one, filled with seemingly impossible barriers that made studying appear to be an unattainable goal.

However, Azam's keen interest in horticulture kept him motivated and his resilient and determined nature kept him on the right path. He emerged as an exceptional leader in his class, always ready to help others complete their tasks.

As an exceptional ambassador for Holmesglen, Azam demonstrates how committed learners − with the encouragement of Holmesglen − can succeed in their chosen fields, even when facing significant challenges.

Finalist - Christian Iervasi

VCAL Foundation

Despite working part-time at two separate jobs, Christian has maintained a near perfect attendance in the VCAL program − all while serving as a Holmesglen Student Ambassador.

In a learning environment, Christian uses his tech and comprehension skills to explain and teach complicated concepts to fellow learners.

While juggling a full workload and study schedule, Christian learnt successfully how to plan far in advance and give notice of his availability. His work ethic, leadership, and positive attitude make him a valuable asset to any team or organisation.

“Christian has been a very busy young person trying to work on himself through attending TAFE full time, working with the TAFE community, all while maintaining two casual jobs. His work ethic is something to be admired,” says teacher Christy Buehlmann.

Finalist - Rylee Allanby

Certificate III in Beauty Services

Beauty Services requires excellent people skills and caring for clients – traits Rylee has in abundance.

Well-liked by her peers at Holmesglen due to her positive and can-do attitude, Rylee also displayed outstanding attendance and dedication to her work.

Soon after finishing the course, Rylee was employed at one of Melbourne's top skincare clinics, where she is being trained in advanced techniques such as laser therapy.

She also gained many of the qualities required in Beauty Services – such as kindness, patience and maturity – from volunteering in her community. Her clients appreciate her gentle and caring nature as well as the beautiful calm, energy she brings to both the treatment room and the classroom.
