If you are ready to make a difference and help ensure services in sectors such as health, disability, and aged care function efficiently, then consider a career as a highly valued Allied Health Assistant.<p>You will be taught by industry specialist teachers using a virtual classroom environment enabling you to learn from home, attending scheduled classes on your computer using video streaming facilities.<p>During our comprehensive virtual classroom training, you will gain a detailed understanding of nutritional needs, understand how the body works and metabolises food, and develop skills to evaluate meal plans and adjust them for individual requirements.<p>Learn how to assist in planning and evaluating meals and menus aligned with the Australian Dietary Guidelines, tailored to meet the nutritional needs, cultural preferences, and health conditions of diverse individuals. You'll also gain skills to follow therapeutic treatment plans and help interpret health information, promoting strategies to maintain optimal body function.<p>Practical placement is an essential component of the HLT43021 Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance program. It bridges the gap between study and employment, giving you the opportunity to gain real-world experience and confidence before entering the industry. <p>During practical placement, you will have the opportunity to turn knowledge into action. You will complete a minimum of 120 hours of hands-on experience, assisting dietitians and nutritionists in various health industry environments, such as aged care facilities and hospitals. During this time, you may also work alongside chefs to help meet the dietary needs of clients.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
