Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.<p>Students should have the physical capacity to be able to successfully work within the field where they may be required to conduct their work typically within a beauty, waxing, brow or nail salon, while making sure they are in compliance with all Manual Handling WHS legislation
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training review at an interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

<strong>Full Time</strong><br>Classes run Mondays, Tuesdays. Thursdays and Fridays, 9am-4pm.<p>Classes are both practical and theoretical in nature and a combination of face-to-face classes on campus and virtual off-campus classes.<p><strong>Part Time</strong><p>Class sessions are held for two evenings each week, spanning four hours per session and supplemented by a total of ten authentic simulated salon experiences, held approximately every fourth Saturday where you will have the opportunity to put into practice the skills you've acquired on actual clients whilst under the supervision of your teacher<p>To receive this qualification you must complete 18 units, which comprise of 14 core units and 4 elective units.<p>Elective units have been chosen to support the vocational outcome of the students to become beauticians. These units are chosen for the students to provide a range of beauty services within the industry upon graduation of this qualification.

Additional Course Cost

Students will be required to wear personal protective equipement (PPE) when undertaking practical activities. The PPE students are required to supply are: <br>* Closed toe, non slip shoes <br> <br>Optional excursions may be offered at an additional cost to the excursions included in the program. <br> <br>The total cost of these items and excursion is approximately $150. <br> <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
