Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the SIT30122 Certificate III in Tourism, students must be at least 17 years of age at the commencement of the program.<p>Prospective students should possess confidence in their ability to learn new software applications and have a genuine enthusiasm for tourism.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

Classes are held on campus: 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 9.30am to 4pm<p>This course is divided into three stages that include Tour Guiding, Hotels and Products, and Travel Bookings. Entry into the course is possible at the commencement of each stage.<p>To receive this qualification, you must complete 15 units in total, comprising of 4 core units and 11 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.<p>If the learner has already completed other eligible elective units, these will be counted towards completion of this program.

Students will be required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear when undertaking practical activities. Students are required to supply: <br>* Closed toe walking shoes <br> <br>The total cost of these items is approximately $100. <br> <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
