Studying the Certificate III in Sports Turf Management at Holmesglen

Study at Holmesglen and gain practical skills to succeed in the sports turf industry. You will learn to establish and maintain recreational turf, prepare sports playing surfaces, and manage turf areas. This includes providing advice on turf irrigation, pest and disease control, and effective management practices.<p>Guided by experienced teachers, you’ll build the confidence and expertise needed for roles such as turf manager, groundskeeper, or supervisor. Holmesglen offers dynamic, hands on training and a supportive learning environment to help you achieve your career goals.<p>You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 21 years of age.<p>Applicants must have been working in the sports turf management industry for a minimum of three years.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs. All applicants are interviewed for selection by the Education Manager.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Additional Course Cost

Students will need to supply Personal protective equipment as follows: <br> <br>Safety boots (steel capped, ankle height) Safety pants, Work shirt (waist length jacket if cold), Safety glasses, Ear protection, Hat for sun protection, Sunscreen (if exposed to sunlight), Safety gloves (if handling building materials), Note pad/Pen. <br> <br>The total cost of these items is between $250 - $300 <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
