Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.<p>Apprenticeship: training agreement with a registered employer from a relevant industry.<p>A moderate amount of physical fitness is required to participate in the practical work requirements of the program.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. <strong>3 days per week (Fortnightly), Monday – Wednesday: 8am to 4pm</strong><p>To receive this qualification you must complete 18 core units and five elective units.<p>Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff.<p>If you have already completed other eligible units, these may be counted towards completion of your qualification.

Assessment

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.

How to apply

Apprenticeship

Additional Course Cost

Learners will need to supply Personal protective equipment as follows: <br> <br>Safety boots (steel capped, ankle height) Safety pants, Work shirt (waist length jacket if cold), Safety glasses, Ear protection, Hat for sun protection, Sunscreen (if exposed to sunlight), Safety gloves (if handling building materials), Note pad/Pen. <br> <br>The total cost of these items is between $250 - $300 <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
