Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the AHC30722 Certificate III in Horticulture, learners must be at least 18 years of age.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

<strong>Full-time daytime delivery: </strong>Two days per week (Thursday and Friday) for Semester 1, 2025, for 12 months.<p><strong>Part-time evening delivery:</strong> Two evenings per week, from 4pm to 8pm, for 18 months.<p><br>To receive this qualification, you must complete 17 units in total, comprising of 11 core units and 6 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.<p>If you have already completed other eligible units these may be counted towards completion of your qualification.

Required personal protective equipment students will need to supply is: <br>Safety boots (steel capped, ankle height) <br>Safety pants <br>Work shirt (waist length jacket if cold) Safety glasses Ear protection <br>Hat for sun protection <br>Sunscreen (if exposed to sunlight) <br>Safety gloves (if handling building materials) Note pad Biro <br>The total cost of these items is between $250 - $300 <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
