Studying the Certificate III in Floristry at Holmesglen

Holmesglen's qualified and experienced floristry teachers will assist you to achieve the skills you need to begin or advance your career in the retail or creative floristry industries.<p>Floristry at Holmesglen has a strong design focus. Along with floristry techniques and customer relations, you will learn a variety of creative skills including drawing, visual display and event design.<p>Student participation in floristry competitions is encouraged and you will be involved in creating Holmesglen's entry to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.<p>At the completion of the course you will be a qualified florist in accordance with the National Industry Competency Standards for floristry and be ready to work in a retail or floristry related business.

Entry Requirements

Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent and preferably some relevant work experience. English language proficiency level of IELTS 6.0, ISLPR 2+, TOEFL 197 (Computer based), PTE Academic Score of 46 (no communicative skill score less than 42) or equivalent.<br> For equivalent English language tests see <a href="https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/student-500#Eligibility">https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/student-500#Eligibility</a>. International applicants are required to achieve ACSF Level 2 in the online Literacy and Numeracy testing (BKSB).

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
