Entry Requirements

Applicants for the 22603VIC Certificate IV in Cyber Security program must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent and of mature age.<p>Applicants must have EPSILON training contract stating Holmesglen Institute as your selected training provider.<p>Holmesglen requires learners to have the ability to:<br>• Basic Computer Operations:<br> Being able to turn on a computer and use fundamental hardware such as a mouse, keyboard, headset, and webcam.<p>• Internet and Software Use:<br> Connecting to the internet, using web browsers to search for information, sending and receiving emails, and handling software applications.<p>• File Management:<br> The ability to create folders, save files, organise them, and locate them when needed.<p>• Software Installation:<br> Downloading and installing necessary software, which is crucial for working with various cybersecurity tools and applications.<p>• Remote Learning Participation:<br> Using webinar software (such as WebEx), which is particularly relevant for participating in online classes or remote learning sessions, ensuring students can engage with course materials and instructors effectively.<p>Learners opting to BYOD or intending to learn remotely will require access to a PC computer or laptop with the following minimum specification:<br>• Quad-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM, internal storage of 512GB, 4GHz or faster processor<br>• Windows OS, or virtual machine installed with Windows OS (available free from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines/ or https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise)<br>• Headset with microphone and webcam (if learning remotely)<br>• Access to internet connection <p>Applicants will also need to install the following applications at commencement of study in the course. Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a Pre Training Review interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Assessment

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.

How to apply

Traineeship
