Entry Requirements

Applicants for the 22603VIC Certificate IV in Cyber Security program must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent or be of mature age. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age<p>Holmesglen does require applicants to have the following digital literacy skills and the ability to:<p>• Basic Computer Operations:<br> Being able to turn on a computer and use fundamental hardware such as a mouse, keyboard, headset, and webcam.<p>• Internet and Software Use:<br> Connecting to the internet, using web browsers to search for information, sending and receiving emails, and handling software applications.<p>• File Management:<br> The ability to create folders, save files, organise them, and locate them when needed.<p>• Software Installation:<br> Downloading and installing necessary software, which is crucial for working with various cybersecurity tools and applications.<p>• Remote Learning Participation:<br> Using webinar software such as WebEx, which is particularly relevant for participating in online classes or remote learning sessions, ensuring students can engage with course materials and instructors effectively.<p>Learners require access to a PC computer or laptop with the following minimum specification:<p>A PC/laptop with the following minimum specification:<br>• Quad-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM, internal storage of 512GB, 4GHz or faster processor<br>• Windows 10 OS or higher<br>• Headset with microphone and webcam <br>• Access to internet connection <p>Applicants will also need to install the following applications at the commencement of study in the course. Pre requisite unit requirements<br>To study VU23218 Implement network security infrastructure for an organisation, learners must complete the pre requisite unit:<br>VU23213 - Utilise basic network concepts and protocols required in cyber security<p>To study VU23220 Develop and carry out a cyber security industry project, learners must complete the pre requisite units:<br>VU23213 - Utilise basic network concepts and protocols required in cyber security<br>VU23215 - Test concepts and procedures for cyber security
Applicants for the 22603VIC Certificate IV in Cyber Security program must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent or be of mature age. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Additionally, they should have a strong interest in cyber security and possess adequate digital literacy skills.<p>All applicants must undertake a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) test. This test will be administered via Holmesglen. You must achieve a minimum exit level three (3), working at level four (4) in Numeracy & Literacy.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

To receive this qualification, you must complete 16 units in total, comprising of 8 core units and 8 elective units. <p>Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.<p>Students who do not complete all the requirements for the qualification will be issued with a Statement of Attainment listing the units attained. <p>It is recommended a full time student would complete 12-15 hours of study per week. During this study time, students would perform the tasks/exercises, self-directed study, research, project work and written assessments as presented in Brightspace, Holmesglen's online learning management system (LMS).<p>Students are encouraged to engage with their peers and teachers in scheduled video conferencing sessions and discussion forums where they can post their queries and completed tasks in Brightspace. Teachers will provide study progress feedback via the LMS.
