The Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets at Holmesglen provides essential training for individuals seeking to apply for an Electrical Spotters Registration Licence with Energy Safe Victoria (ESV). This course equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to spot for electrical and other service assets safely in various workplace environments. By completing the course, learners meet part of the required training to obtain their ESV registration. Holmesglen’s hands on training approach, combined with expert instructors, ensures that learners are well-prepared to work confidently and competently in the field

Entry Requirements

To participate in the program, Holmesglen requires all learners to be currently employed in the industry, and;<br>• must be aged 18 years at a minimum in order, to satisfy the ESV registration requirement on course completion<br>• has completed training and holds competency in the unit HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (within the last 3 years), and;<br>• has completed annual refresher training in the unit HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (within the last 12 months) where the HLTAID011 training was completed more than 12 months ago<br>and;<br>• holds a license to perform High Risk Work (issued by WorkSafe Victoria), for the item of plant that person will be spotting for; Or, <br>• has a current ticket/s in the field you want included on your Spotters ticket; Or, <br>• has a certificate/statement of attainment from relevant training package/accredited course for each item of plant the spotter is training to spot for; Or be a trained dogman/rigger*<p>Learners will be required to present the original documents such as licences/tickets and training certificates required to the Department when enrolling in this course for certification.<p>*Note: Holmesglen recommends all learners confirm latest requirements for Spotters with ESV prior to enrolling in the course. www.esv.gov.au
Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
