The course is delivered on campus, using a blend of face-to-face theory and practical based training activities.<p>Course content includes;<br>- Interpreting the OHS legislative framework and its relationship to the HSR<br>- Identifying key parties and their legislative obligations and duties<br>- Participating in consultation and issues resolution<br>- Establishing representation in the workplace<br>- Representing designated work group members in any OHS risk management process undertaken by the appropriate duty holder(s)<br>- Issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN) and directing the cessation of work.<p>Holmesglen is approved to deliver the WorkSafe HSR Initial OHS training course.<p>It should be noted as per Section 67 of the 2004 OHS Act all elected HSRs are entitled to undertake the WorkSafe Victoria approved OHS training for HSRs and choose their training course in consultation with their employer.<p>Although HSRs are the primary audience, managers, supervisors, health and safety committee members and anyone with an interest in health and safety may also benefit from attending this course.<p>As a Health and Safety Representative you have the right to choose the training provider you believe is best suited to your training needs.<p>Group bookings of 10 or more can be offered at your workplace location or at one of our other campuses.
