Studying the Course in Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure up to 22kW at Holmesglen

The program covers consulting with clients regarding electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) requirements, assessing potential integration of new EVCI with existing residential and (small) commercial electrical installations, and designing and proposing compliant EVCI accordioning to usage, configuration and budgetary requirements, as well as assessing options, and testing and commissioning appropriate EVCI according to usage, configuration and budgetary requirements.<p>During the on-campus workshop, which is teacher-led and face-to-face, participants engage in presentations and discussions to reinforce the theoretical knowledge covered in the pre-course work. They also participate in practical demonstrations and activities to acquire the skills needed to design, test, and commission compliant EVCI installations. Assessments, including both theoretical and practical components, are conducted towards the end of the session.<p>Upon successful completion of the accredited course, learners become trained EVCI personnel capable of safely and efficiently designing, testing, and commissioning EVCI. Holders of this licence have met the licencing and registration criteria established by the relevant state or territory regulatory body.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this program, the learner must be a qualified Electrician and/or hold an Electrician’s licence (A grade) or equivalent, as per jurisdictional requirements, issued in an Australian State or Territory to undertake this program.<p>Learners must be at least 19 years old.<p>Learners are required to provide evidence of their Electrician’s Licence (A grade) or equivalent prior to enrolment in the course.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.<p>Note: Any person in Victoria who is required to install equipment that is fixed wired into an electrical installation must be licensed to practice in accordance with the requirements of the Victorian Electricity Safety Act 1998.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
