Studying the Licence to perform dogging at Holmesglen

This course covers the scope of work needed to demonstrate competency in the application of slinging techniques, selection and inspection of lifting gear, and/or directing a crane/operator in moving a load when the load is out of view of the crane/operator, for licensing purposes.<p>With plenty of practical, hands-on training, you will learn to:<br>plan the job<br>select and inspect equipment<br>identify and manage hazards<br>prepare the site and equipment<br>perform the task<br>shut down the job and clean up.

Entry Requirements

• Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)<br>• At least 6 months’ work experience in construction or relevant industry<br>• Minimum 18 years of age
WorkSafe Australia stipulates that assessment is conducted in English.<p>Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
