The Certificate III in Glass and Glazing is delivered in Holmesglen’s state-of-the-art facilities, with a strong focus on hands-on, practical training. The glazing stream is ideal for those looking to build a career in the glass and glazing industry, particularly in glass installation for buildings.
The program spans 3 to 4 years, blending on-the-job training with classroom-based learning. Apprentices attend block delivery sessions at Holmesglen's campus for face-to-face instruction, practical workshops, and assessments. One-on-one support is provided by trainers through in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails. Holmesglen’s Learning Management System (LMS), Brightspace, offers learning resources like quizzes, instructional videos, reading materials, and detailed assessment guidelines.
Workplace visits are organised to help apprentices prepare for assessments, and ongoing communication with trainers ensures continuous guidance. The LMS offers tools such as assessment rubrics and quizzes to help apprentices review essential concepts and sharpen their practical skills.
Upon completion, apprentices will be proficient in handling and installing glass across various settings, from fitting mirrors in residential bathrooms to installing specialised glass in commercial buildings. They will also be equipped to read and interpret technical plans, ensuring accurate selection of glass types, sizes, and specifications for each project.
This qualification opens the door to a successful career in the glass and glazing industry, preparing graduates to work confidently in both domestic and commercial environments.
