Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.<p>As it is an apprenticeship delivery, all students must have an employer and a valid apprenticeship contract in place prior to commencement.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. On-Campus Attendance: 1 day per week (Monday - Friday)<p>Hours: 8.15am - 3.45pm<p>To receive this qualification, you must complete 25 units in total, comprising of 8 core units and 17 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.

Additional Course Cost

Students will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when undertaking practical activities and attending site visits. <br>The indicative additional course costs for this course are $400-1000. <br>This is for items including, but not limited to: <br>• PPE (safety boots (leather upper), safety pants, work shirt (no singlets), safety glasses, ear protection AS1270 (earmuffs), gloves (Level 5 Cut Resistant Gloves)) <br>• BYO device/laptop approximately $400+ <br>• speciality items such as 150mm steel ruler, chisels 1 of each (6mm, 12mm, 25mm) Final project material <br>• stationery items such as notebook, blue or black pen/biro, HB Pencil, Eraser Steel Tape (Metric 3m/5m) <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
