Study the Certificate II in Engineering Studies at Holmesglen and gain practical skills in welding, fabrication, and machining. This pre-apprenticeship program provides essential hands-on training in engineering techniques and the use of AutoCAD software for engineering drawings. Designed as a pathway into an engineering apprenticeship or entry-level roles in manufacturing, this course prepares you for a range of industries, including construction, mining, and power generation. With industry-aligned training and support, you'll be ready to launch your engineering career.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Duration: 11weeks<br>Frequency: 3 days per week<br>Time: 8am to 3.30pm<p>The course is delivered face-to-face, and includes self-study online. The on-campus practical training is delivered in our simulated engineering workshop and provides access to the a range of engineering tools and equipment used in today's industry.

Additional Course Cost

The required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) students will need to supply: <br>- Safety boots (steel capped, ankle height) <br>- Safety pants <br>- work shirt (waist length) and jacket if cold) <br>- N95 (P2) masks <br> Total costs for PPE is approximately $200-$250 (depending on brands)
