At Holmesglen, you’ll receive hands-on training in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, conductors, and cables, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. Our modern facilities and expert trainers provide ongoing support throughout your learning. The program covers working with overhead poles, structures, and electrical apparatus, as well as the requirements and procedures for working on live low voltage electrical apparatus.
You will also gain experience using support plant and equipment to undertake your tasks, ensuring you’re equipped for real-world scenarios.
Upon successful completion, apprentices can continue their careers as Electrical Linesworkers in the powerline distribution industry, where they will install, maintain, and inspect poles, structures, hardware, and electrical components.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and above to enrol in the program to meet the minimum age requirements for training and working in the Electrotechnology field in Victoria, determined by the regulators Energy Safe Victoria (ESV).
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. To receive this qualification, you must complete 21 core units and 3 elective units.
Elective units have been chosen and based on discussion with Industry.
