Holmesglen has had over 20 years’ experience operating in the Gulf region, particularly in Bahrain and Qatar.
Together with our partner, the Victorian Department of Education, Holmesglen undertook the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Secondary Vocational Education Reform Project. This ambitious project achieved significant reform to schooling in Bahrain. It has led to the implementation of a new vocationally oriented senior secondary qualification for males and females, based on industry endorsed occupational standards and with integrated on-the-job learning.
Holmesglen was then contracted to delivery Qatar’s long term Commercial Education Development Project. A team of Holmesglen staff working for over eight years in Doha supporting the delivery of Australian qualifications in Banking and Finance to senior secondary students.
The program broadened over time to include Structured Workplace Learning placements, management of the English program and finally, the opening and educational supervision of a girls’ school.
Holmesglen was also the joint partner providing Master Training for the Doha Asian Games. We trained over 66,000 of the Games workforce with expertise gained through delivering Melbourne Commonwealth Games training.
