Holmesglen's Bachelor of Business (Accounting) has been developed to provide individuals with the opportunity to achieve an accounting qualification through a more practical and hands-on approach to learning.

Studying the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at Holmesglen
This program has been recognised and accredited by the CAANZ, CPA Australia, Institute of Certified Management Accountants and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) and provides a nationally recognised qualification in accounting.

Course structure
Mode of study: Full-time, on campus face-to-face delivery.
Timetable
Daytime - Classes run Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, depending on units.
Nighttime - Classes run Wednesdays and Thursday nights, 6pm-9pm
All new students commencing in a higher education course must attend their Faculty Course Orientation and Holmesglen's Higher Education Orientation.
Major studies
This degree will build your knowledge of Accounting, Auditing, Economics, Finance, Law, Statistics, Taxation Law and Practice, Financial Accounting and Management Accounting.

• Understanding business, corporations and taxation laws
• Understanding of the modern economy
• Advanced management accounting methodologies.
The course is structured to provide a Bachelor level degree qualification, upon the completion of 24 subjects. This qualification comprises 20 core subjects and a selection of four electives from a range of elective subjects. After the completion of the first 16 subjects, students are eligible to exit the course with the Associate Degree in Business (Accounting).

Entry requirements
Good passes at Year 12/Matriculation or the overseas equivalent or relevant senior employment experience.
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (Academic) with no individual bandscore
less than 6.0.
Recommended: A good knowledge of Mathematics, Accounting or Economics.

Outcomes
Qualification and recognition
The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree meets the requirements for professional accounting accreditation with Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) and Certified Management Accountants (CMA).
Graduates may apply for associate membership of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
Graduates of this degree also meet the academic entry requirements of the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ) Program.
