Entry Requirements

<strong>1. Prior Higher Education Study</strong><br>• Your full academic record will be considered.<br>• Full or partial completion of a Bachelor degree (or higher) may meet the entry requirements.<p><strong>2. Prior VET Study</strong><br>• Completion of an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) will be considered.<p><strong>3. Work and Life Experience</strong><br>• For applicants who left secondary school more than two years ago and have not completed further study.<br>• You may demonstrate equivalence of entry requirements through:<br> - Professional experience<br> - Community involvement<br> - Non-formal tertiary preparation programs<p><strong>4. Recent Secondary Education</strong><br>• Successful completion of VCE (or equivalent).<br>• ATAR results will be considered as part of selection.
Applicant’s preparedness, aptitude and ability to cope with formal tertiary study at this qualification level will be determined through review of the supplementary application forms which includes details of previous formal/non-formal qualifications or work life experiences. You will need to attend an interview which will determine your suitability for the course and if there is any support that needs to be put in place for successful completion.

Advanced standing

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Read more about gaining advanced standing and credits.

<strong>Class Schedule</strong><br>• Mode: On-campus<br>• Days: Monday to Friday<br>• Time: 9.00am – 6.00pm (depending on units)<p><strong>Orientation</strong><br>• All new students must attend:<br> - Their Faculty Course Orientation<br> - Holmesglen’s Higher Education Orientation<p>You must complete 24 units (21 core and 3 elective) for a total of 144 credit points to obtain the qualification.<p>Graduates of Holmesglen Diploma qualifications in the field may receive up to 48 credit points of advanced standing. Graduates of other diplomas may be eligible for advanced standing. This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the course leader. Outcomes

Qualification and Recognition

On successful completion of this program, you will be awarded the Bachelor of Business Accounting. This program meets the requirements for professional accounting accreditation with Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Graduates may apply for associate membership of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Graduates of this degree also meet the academic entry requirements of the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ) Program. You are advised to refer to the appropriate professional association's website for further details regarding admission and membership requirements.
