The Licence to Perform Dogging course will allow you to develop the skills and knowledge you need to safely and efficiently complete dogging activities. The qualification can increase your opportunities to work on construction sites, in mines, and many other industries.

  • Participants who successfully complete the CPCCLDG3001 unit and the WorkSafe assessment for Licence to Perform Dogging can apply for the WorkSafe Licence to Perform Dogging and with that licence seek employment in dogging.

  • RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction.

Studying the Licence to perform dogging at Holmesglen

This course covers the scope of work needed to demonstrate competency in the application of slinging techniques, selection and inspection of lifting gear, and/or directing a crane/operator in moving a load when the load is out of view of the crane/operator, for licensing purposes.<p>With plenty of practical, hands-on training, you will learn to:<br>plan the job<br>select and inspect equipment<br>identify and manage hazards<br>prepare the site and equipment<br>perform the task<br>shut down the job and clean up.

Entry Requirements

<li>Construction Induction Card (CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) </li><br> <li>At least 6 months employment experience in construction or relevant industry </li><br> <li>SafeWork Australia stipulates that participants are to be aged 18 years and over and that assessment is conducted in the English language.</li>
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
