Studying the Certificate III in Interior Decoration Retail Services at Holmesglen
You will study interior decoration and learn the practical skills and knowledge required to plan, present and implement creative design and decoration solutions for a variety of interior environments. You will also learn skills in computing, Google SketchUp, presentation methods, soft furnishings, hard material application, colour theory and application.
You will learn about presentation methods, customer / designer engagement, planning for kitchen and bathroom decoration, estimating and costing projects, communicating environmental sustainable work practice when proposing products and services and delivering service to customers safely while working in a team environment.
You will have the opportunity to use Adobe design software throughout the program. You will create a folio of design work for art and design courses at tertiary level.
This is a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (previously VETiS) course and can only be completed as part of a VCE or VCAL program.
Classes are held at Holmesglen's Chadstone campus on Wednesdays from 1.30pm to 5.30pm for 2 years.

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Students must be enrolled in a secondary school and have the approval of the school to participate in the program.
The schools are responsible for allocating students who will meet the LLN requirements of the course. Where further support is required they are provided guidance through Holmesglen's Learning Skills Centre in consultation with the school.
You must be enrolled as a VCE or VCAL student at a Victorian Secondary School
Students must discuss their VET course selection with their school careers adviser and leadership team to ensure students have selected the right VETDSS course program.
Qualification and recognition
Completion of this program will give the students the MSF31018 Certificate III in Interior Decoration Retail Services qualification. The course may also provide block credits towards the students ATAR score.
