This is a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (previously VETiS) course and can only be completed as part of your VCE or VCAL program.
This course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required for the selection and coordination of interior furnishings and finishes in the decoration of domestic and commercial interiors.
You will study interior decoration and learn the practical skills and knowledge required to plan and implement creative design and decoration solutions for a variety of interior environments. You will also learn skills in computing, Google SketchUp, presentation methods, soft furnishings, hard material application, colour theory and application.
You will have the opportunity to use Adobe design software throughout the program. You will create a folio of design work for art and design courses at tertiary level.
Timetable>Students must attend classes at Holmesglen's Chadstone campus on Wednesdays from 1.30pm to 5pm.

You must be enrolled in as a VCE or VCAL student at a Victorian Secondary School.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
This is a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (previously VETiS) course and is part of your VCE or VCAL program. Where the program provides a Unit 3 and 4 sequence, VTAC may award a 10% increment towards the calculation of the ATAR (subject to VTAC policy).
Upon successful completion of the Cert III In Interior Decoration Retail Services qualification, students may apply to study the Certificate IV in Interior Decoration program.
This is an entry level program.
After successfully completing the course, you may undertake a broad range of further study from certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses in interior design and decoration.
This course is suitable if you have an interest in interior design, colour consultation and styling.
