Divyangana’s dream of working in healthcare inspired her move to Australia.

While studying a nursing diploma, and now nursing degree, Divyangana has used strong classroom theory, state-of-the-art simulation activities and clinical placements to prepare for work in Australia’s healthcare industry.

During her diploma, Divyangana secured a fellowship with Epworth Hospital, and completed placements across the healthcare provider's Brighton, Camberwell and Richmond facilities, working in the rehabilitation and vascular surgery departments.

Divyangana’s passion was recognised when she was named a Victorian International Education Awards winner.

“I want to enhance the student experience. It’s been amazing to be a voice for TAFE.”

Eddie is a passionate and community-focused person, who made a significant impact to Holmesglen’s Student Association and ambassador program during his studies.

Described as a friendly, engaging and optimistic student by his teachers, Eddie wants to use his education to run a non-profit school in his home country, Mongolia.

He is well on his way to achieving this goal after working as an intern at the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO.

“The course helped me find my passion. I learned that raising your voice and being an active individual is crucial. Holmesglen was there to listen and help me,says Eddie.

Hybee’s teachers describe him as kind-hearted with a wonderful intellectual humility.

During his time at Holmesglen, Hybee received the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Student Nurse Award for dedication to his nursing degree.

He also received our Higher Education Student of the Year honour.

Following his studies, Hybee was offered a graduate year in mental health nursing at Goulburn Valley Shepparton.

He speaks highly of Holmesglen’s practice-based teaching model and looks forward to helping future nursing learners.

Rimpal is an inspiring IT learner, thoroughly engaged in mastering the technical as well as the interpersonal skills to excel in her future career.

Rimpal honed her skills in programming, business analysis, information systems and databases, among others, at Holmesglen.

She always displayed excellence working on group projects, providing leadership, motivating and inspiring others towards reaching common goals.

“Working and collaborating on group projects is challenging but also a lot of fun,” says Rimpal.

Rimpal is an International Student of the Year winner and served on our Student Representative Council.

Seiv Chhoung (also known as Kelvin) enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing after hearing about Holmesglen’s high standards and reputation. 

Shortly after starting his studies, the pandemic hit. Kelvin volunteered on the front line as a PCR tester and at COVID-19 vaccination centres. He quickly grew his people, understanding and tolerance skills. 

This dedication was recognised when he was announced as a Holmesglen ‘International Student of the Year’ finalist. 

“He’s a very respectful student who strives for success, always works with honesty and is respected by his peers,” says teacher Michelle O’Sullivan.

Arriving in Australia to explore the hospitality industry, Thanawat was drawn to studying Information Systems and believes he found his second home at Holmesglen. 

In 2024, he was announced as Holmesglen’s ‘International Student of the Year’. 

Thanawat's leadership abilities were prominently displayed during his role as project manager for the final year Capstone Project and he was actively engaged in mentoring within the information systems course, where he provided guidance and practical advice to fellow students. 

He aspires to work in cloud tech and plans to launch a Thai food business as a side hustle.

At Holmesglen, Carol took an active approach to her studies – such as when she represented Holmesglen at the Council of International Students Australia National Conference in Canberra. 

A Vietnamese native, Carol said Melbourne quickly became a second home. 

She cites the work placements Holmesglen offered, particularly in her Bachelor of Hospitality Management course, as important to her growth. 

Carol completed an internship at The Westin Melbourne, which gave her additional career experience. 

“The lecturers assist with getting placement opportunities. They do very well collaborate with industry partners,” affirms Carol.
