Prime Minister visits Holmesglen

Prime Minister visit

Holmesglen Institute has welcomed Australia’s Prime Minister, the Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, to its multi-million-dollar Victorian Tunnelling Centre at Drummond Street campus.

The visit, understood to be the first tour of a Victorian TAFE by a Prime Minister, confirms Holmesglen’s place as a national leader in infrastructure and building training.

Mr Albanese, joined by fellow minsters and special guests, toured the Australian-first Centre –and explored its state-of-the-art facilities.

One of only three specialist tunnelling training sites in the world, the Victorian Tunnelling Centre is training thousands of local workers to support the state’s largest-ever infrastructure projects, which include the Metro Tunnel, West Gate Tunnel and North East Link projects.
