Holmesglen becomes four-time best TAFE for Industry Collaboration

Holmesglen’s status as an industry collaboration heavyweight continued with an impressive fourth Victorian Training Awards win in five years.

The achievement was celebrated at the 67th annual awards ceremony, which was held as a special virtual event.

Our partnership with CYP Design and Construction (CYP) – a joint venture comprising John Holland, Lendlease and Bouygues – received the Industry Collaboration Award in 2021, for our work provided to The Metro Tunnel Project.

Four wins since 2017, including a previous hat-trick, re-confirm us as the state’s most recognised TAFE for industry collaboration.

“Through our collaboration with Cross Yarra Partnership, we have delivered inductions and skills training to thousands of workers on the Metro Tunnel Project.

“The Holmesglen-CYP collaboration has not just ensured that the project has the skilled workforce required to build the Metro Tunnel but has created the template for TAFE – industry partnerships for all future Victorian Big Build projects,” says Executive Director – International Education and Enterprise Solutions, Andrew Williamson.

Our partnership with CYP has created new training and employment opportunities for thousands of Victorians while directly supporting Victoria’s biggest public transport infrastructure project.

The Victorian Tunnelling Centre, located at our Drummond St campus, is one of only three specialist tunnelling training centres in the world. The Centre is training thousands of workers involved with Victoria’s ‘Big Build’ projects.
