New Business Assistance with NEIS assists eligible job seekers to kick-start their business venture by providing access to:
  • Training in small business management
  • Business advice and five business mentor sessions
All at no cost to you, and in addition, if eligible:
  • 9 months of NEIS income support
  • 6 months of rental assistance
Holmesglen has been actively involved in providing NEIS training and support for over 20 years and offers training in Victoria, South Australia, and Australian Capital Territory.

What training will I receive?

As part of your training, you will undertake the nationally accredited BSB42615 Certificate IV in New Small Business. This training will be delivered Monday to Friday from 10 am - 3 pm, over an eight-week period. You will attend classes approximately 3 days per week.

Business planning Market research
Financial planning Legal and taxation requirements
Marketing and social media Business protection and insurance
Advertising and promotion Bookkeeping

As part of your training, you will develop a comprehensive business plan, which needs to be approved before you can start your business and receive NEIS assistance. The business plan will also assist you if you need to approach banks or credit unions for finance. You will receive support and assistance throughout the training program to develop your business plan.
