Studying the Certificate II in Salon Assistant at Holmesglen

You will learn client booking systems, salon services, shampoo and basin services, blow drying hair, braiding hair, head, neck and shoulder massage, occupational health and safety, and other related salon services.<p>At Holmesglen, we focus on making sure you have a strong customer-service approach when consulting with clients, so you are ready to walk into a job at your future salon.<p>This program has compulsory activities and materials as part of the learning experience. The department will confirm the cost of these prior to your enrolment.<p>This is a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (previously VETiS) course and can only be completed as part of your VCE or VCAL program.

Entry Requirements

Learners are required to be current school students enrolled in the VETDSS program in either Year 10, 11 or 12 at one of the schools with which the VETDSS department has an agreement.
Prior to commencement of the course, learners are required to discuss their learning needs with their school, and be assessed by the school coordinator for suitability to the program.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
