The Certificate IV in TESOL prepares you to work in programs or organisations that teach English as a second language within Australia or overseas.

If you hold a Bachelor of Education and wish to extend your qualifications and employment opportunities, this course will enable you to apply for work in language centres with international students within Australia.

If you wish to work in a voluntary capacity in community-based organisations in Australia or overseas, you will also benefit from this course.

The Certificate IV in TESOL provides you with practical skills in teaching English to speakers of other languages.

As a teacher and TEAL graduate, the Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as an Additional Language provides you with the opportunity to enhance your skills and update your knowledge in teaching English.

This is a practical course designed to enable you to focus on practical classroom methodology and language awareness, and relate theories of second language learning and curriculum design to the classroom.

You will also be able to identify developments and changes in education policy at the national and international level.

You will be able to prepare teaching and learning resources that will meet the needs of language learners across a range of learning environments, and deliver these materials efficiently and effectively in the classroom.

You will also be able to develop principles for other administrative aspects of teaching.You will demonstrate an ability to deal with language learners via an on-the-job teaching practicum under the supervision of an experienced EAL teacher.

Successful completion of this course will open opportunities for employment in EAL, TAFEs, university language centres and private providers.
