Studying the SLPET EAL II at Holmesglen

In this SLPET course, you will learn about Australian workplace English, work practices, and culture. You will develop the skills required to satisfy everyday routine needs in familiar employment and work contexts. You will also gain valuable work experience through a practical placement.<p>Classes will cover the skills to write a resume, prepare for job interviews, and more. <p>This 200-hour course includes two weeks of work placement and is only available to AMEP-eligible clients.

Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisite units. Learners do not have to be employed already or have any particular employment skills.<p>Entry into the skill set for Australian Government SLPET program (Settlement Language Pathways to Employment and Training) will be determined according to a participant’s<br>• current English language skills (an initial assessment is conducted)<br>• learning and pathway needs including employability skills, digital and other literacies and further educational and vocational training needs.
Learners need to be over 18 years’ old<br>Be eligible for the AMEP

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Assessment

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
