Studying the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at Holmesglen

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold one of the following:<br> • CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care<br> Or<br>• CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care<p>Additionally:<br>• Students must be employed in a Registered Education and Care Service for a minimum of 13 hours per week.<br>• A training contract must be completed by both the employer and trainee before training can commence.<br>• A current Working With Children’s Check card is required.<br>• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.<p>A training contract must be completed by the employer and trainee before training can commence.<br>Please Visit <a href= "https://www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au/ "> australianapprenticeships.gov.au </a> to assist in finding an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network provider who will assist with setting up the training contract.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Online classes run from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Mondays (one day per week). <br>Plus, each term requires you to attend two classes on campus, from 9am to 4pm on Mondays. <br>Timetable subject to change, per intake.

Assessment

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
