The Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry course is your key to enter the construction industry. Get certified in initial induction and gain access to construction sites for site-specific training and a safe work environment.

Studying the Prepare to work safely in the construction industry at Holmesglen

This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the minimum health and safety expectations imposed on them when undertaking systems of work on construction sites.<p>It assists participants by giving them the basic skills and knowledge to work safely in the construction industry as well as allowing them to meet the requirements of introductory safety training.<p>Participants are required to demonstrate personal awareness and understanding of Health and Safety legislative requirements, communication and reporting processes, common construction hazards and risk control measures and the basic incident and emergency procedures.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for funding, you must be an Australian Citizens or Resident (with residency in Victoria) and must be at least 16 years of age. You can enrol in two funded skill sets per calendar year.
articipants must complete a language and literacy test before attending class.<p>Students are required to bring their own personal protective clothing and equipment (PPC&E) including:<br>- high visibility vest<br>- safety glasses.<p>A white card is mandatory to enter a construction site. Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
