This course is a VET Delivered to Secondary School Students (previously VETiS) and can only be completed as part of your VCE or VCAL program.

During this course you will learn how to develop and run a small business, focusing on business and employability skills such as marketing, research, event management, planning, social media collaboration, financial assistance and a variety of processes required for small business activities.

With the growth of e-commerce, domestic and global markets, small businesses increasingly rely on staff who are capable of contributing to market research, marketing and business planning.

This course also incorporates the use of drone technology, where you will receive hands on experience flying drones and learning about the varied applications of this innovative technology.


Through the management stream of the Certificate IV in Business, you will develop expertise in analysis and presentation, as well as skills in workplace leadership.

You'll learn how to apply digital solutions to work processes, building the foundation for a successful career in operations, administration and planning.

This is a unique course that takes you through everything you need to know to establish your own small business.

Designed specifically for busy professionals who need to study out of hours, this course takes you through all the business start up stages including your legal, insurance and financial responsibilities as a small business operator.

You will graduate from this course with a fully completed, commercially viable business plan that reflects your business intention.

This ensures that when you graduate you will be able to move forward confidently and with purpose as you establish your small business.

You will be given a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of small business management.

You will develop skills in market profiling and identifying business opportunities, as well as effective marketing strategies including promotion and advertising, market research and consumer profiling, business administration, budgeting and financial reporting, customer service and human resource systems.

Each year a high proportion of new small businesses in Australia become financially unstable, often as a result of poor planning and a lack of knowledge. This course will assist you to turn your business dream into a commercially viable venture, and give you the tools you need to keep it financially viable.

When you graduate you will receive access to a loan of up to $10,000 at a specially discounted rate from the NAB.


In the Diploma of Business, you will be taught the practical skills and knowledge you require for business across a wide variety of industry sectors.
