This short course provides nationally accredited training for electricians in the design and installation of grid-connected PV systems.

The course is delivered both online, with a five-day on campus workshop.

Successful completion meets the Clean Energy Council Uee11 Accreditation pathway and will entitle licensed electricians to apply for Provisional Accreditation for Design and Install of Grid-connected PV systems with the Clean Energy Council.

The Grid Connected PV with Battery Storage short course provides nationally accredited training for electricians in the installation of grid-connected PV battery storage systems.

The course provides the accredited training required to apply for the Clean Energy Council Battery Storage Endorsement.

This course blends online learning with practical face-to-face on-campus workshops. Students are required to complete online study and attend a series of on-campus practical workshop sessions. The online study and on-campus sessions are delivered in parallel, by one course instructor.

Designed to provide real-world hands-on simulated practical activities, our students get unrivalled training with access to premium equipment.

The course is for electricians who have completed the design and install grid-connected PV systems course or have provisional Solar Accreditation. To become endorsed to install grid-connected battery storage, accreditation must also be held for the design and install of grid-connected (GC) photovoltaic systems.


This Grid Connect PV Systems - Design only course is training in battery storage design for electricians and electrical engineers who want to gain skills to design only grid-connected PV systems.

Successful completion meets the Clean Energy Council UEE11 Accreditation pathway and will enable you to apply for Provisional Accreditation for Design of Grid-connected PV systems with the Clean Energy Council (www.solaraccreditation.com.au).

All our renewable energy trainers are CEC accredited and have current industry experience.


This course is designed for electricians to gain the required skills to design and install stand-alone power systems (off-grid PV).

Successful completion of the course meets the Clean Energy Council UEE11 Accreditation pathway and will entitle licensed electricians to apply for Provisional Accreditation for Design and Install Stand-Alone Power Systems with the Clean Energy Council.


The grid-connected PV design accreditation skill set is designed for engineers and project managers and those who are not qualified electricians.

The course delivery is a mixture of online and on campus, with three-day on campus workshop.

Training introduces learners to grid-connected systems, system components, industry regulations and standards, and how to effectively design grid-connected solutions.

The course covers the knowledge and skills required for grid connected PV design and meets the requirements for provisional accreditation with the Clean Energy Council.

The on-campus workshops are delivered by Holmesglen’s Renewable Energy Centre of Excellence - Australia’s premier facility for solar energy training. With hands-on simulated practical training, learners will get unrivalled training with access to premium equipment.


Through the Course in New Energy Technology Systems, you will develop skills to work in battery storage installation.

Holmesglen is part of a pilot program to roll out this new course, which incorporates a range of new course resources including short videos to support your training to help you retain and understand the information and see it applied in the appropriate context.

This is a nationally accredited qualification developed by industry in response to the upcoming demand for residential solar battery installations by consumers. The course is restricted to licensed electricians and places are limited.

After the course, you can continue to have access to information and updates so you stay up to date with on-going changes in the New Energy storage sector.

The pilot is led by Future Energy Skills and validated and endorsed by the following industry stakeholders: Clean Energy Council, Smart Energy Council, Gippsland Solar, Energy Safe Victoria, National Electrical and Communications Association, Electrical Trades Union, and the Country Fire Authority.
