PVC is an approved pipe material for use in water supply, sewerage reticulation and the gas industry. As a result Holmesglen, in conjunction with the Water Authorities around Australia and the Plastic Pipe Manufacturing Industry, has developed the Plastek program.

The program will provide water authorities and other relevant bodies around Australia with trained pipe layers who not only understand the material but will provide quality installation.

As the water industry moves towards Quality Assurance in construction, pipe layers may need to undertake accredited training before authorities accept their tenders.

The one-day training workshop conducted by experienced instructors will include informative discussion and practical exercises aimed at maximum participation. Participants will be encouraged to put forward and demonstrate ideas and recommendations that may improve the product of the quality installation of PVC pipe.
