Studying the Licence to operate a forklift truck at Holmesglen

You will learn from experienced trainers providing practical, hands-on training.<p>You will learn to:<br>- Plan the work.<br>- Conduct routine checks on a forklift truck.<br>- Shift loads in a safe manner.<br>- Safely shut down and secure equipment after completing operations.<p> This course specifies the required outcomes to operate a forklift, including checking forklift condition, driving the forklift to fulfill operational requirements, monitoring site conditions and monitoring and maintaining forklift performance. <p>A person performing this work is required to hold a forklift truck high risk work (HRW) licence. Holding a licence shows you’re competent and have the necessary skills to drive a forklift safely.

Entry Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age<br>• Car driving experience – Probationary or full driver’s licence<p>WorkSafe Australia stipulates that assessment is conducted in English.
Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.
A pre training review will be conducted which covers the entry requirements

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
