Studying the Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology at Holmesglen
You will learn to make, install, repair, replace or modify the seats, upholstery, linings (roof and door linings), interior trim and floor coverings of all sorts of vehicles from cars and trucks, through to trains, aircraft and boats.
The course focuses on the practical skills that are required within the trimming industry. You will get to work on mulitple projects, allowing you to develop your skills in a self-paced learning environment.
Our simulated environment allows our students to work on vehicles similar to the workplace. Training is structured but the students have access to the workshop at any time so that they can practice their skills.
To receive this qualification you must complete 11 core units and 19 elective units.

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Apprentices must have a training agreement in place with an employer.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Qualification and recognition
On completion, you will receive AUR32316 Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology.
How to apply
A training contract must be completed by the employer and apprentice within the first two weeks of employment.
A representative from the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network will visit the workplace to complete the training contract with the employer and the apprentice.
