Entry Requirements

As this is an apprenticeship delivery, all students must have an employer and a valid Apprenticeship Contract in place prior to commencement.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

<strong>Duration:</strong> Part-time over 3 years<br><strong>Delivery Mode:</strong> Combination of on-campus and workplace learning, primarily face-to-face on campus<br><strong>On-Campus </strong>Attendance: Monthly blocks on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday<br><strong>Hours:</strong> 8.15am – 3.45pm<br><strong>Total Face-to-Face Hours:</strong> 693 hours (minimum of 21 hours per month)<br>Unsupervised Hours: Approximately 9.5 hours per week<p>To receive this qualification, you must complete 30 units in total, comprising of 12 core units and 18 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.

Apprenticeship

Additional Course Cost

Students will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when undertaking practical activities and attending site visits. <br>The indicative additional course costs for this course are $350 - 800. <br>This is for items including, but not limited to: <br>• PPE (safety boots (leather upper), safety pants, work shirt (no singlets), safety glasses, ear protection AS1270 (earmuffs). <br>• BYO device/laptop approximately $400+ <br>• specialty items such as 1-meter Sewing Tape Measure, Steel Tape (Metric 3m/5m) <br>• stationery items such as notebook, blue or black pen/biro, HB Pencil, Eraser, tailor’s chalk, white tailor’s pencil. <br>If additional safety equipment is required, it will be supplied by the Institute.
