A civil construction course is your pathway to work in an operational, supervisory or management role within the civil construction field.  You'll develop capability to work across a range of areas – roads, rails, planes and ships to tunnelling and drainage systems. Our training includes working with hand and power tools, elevated work platforms, pipe laying and concreting.

This course covers the skill and knowledge you will require for safe entry to confined spaces under a work permit and for maintaining safety while working in a confined space.

This course is necessary for all persons who are required to enter a confined space, for maintenance purposes, cleaning, inspecting or other reasons, as defined by the standard AS2865 or its authorised update or replacement.

The course covers:
- preparing to entre the confined space
- checking the preparations against the permit conditions
- entering the confined spaces
- working safely in confined spaces.


This program provides training on how to implement a traffic management plan and set up traffic control equipment as well as providing training in skid steer and roller operations under close supervision at our simulated site at Waverley.

During this course you will also undertake the Construction Induction unit (White Card) which is a prerequisite in construction and infrastructure workplaces.

Our civil construction traffic management skill set is being run as part of the Victorian Government’s Skills Uplift program and provides participants with the entry level skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment in civil construction to support the Victorian Government’s major infrastructure projects.


This course provides the skills required to:

- Participate in a rescue operation as a member of a rescue team, including underpinning specialist rescue operations
- Undertake vertical rescue in a range of emergency situations in natural and man-made environments.

Group or company bookings can be offered at a daily rate at your location, if suitable, or at our Bulli Street campus in Moorabbin.


The Certificate II in Civil Construction will repare you for a trade career in the civil construction sector, providing you practical skills and knowledge.

You will learn workplace health and safety essentials and appropriate workplace communication skills required to work on a civil construction site.

You will also gain practical skills using hand tools and work on civil construction machinery and plant under close supervision at our simulated site at Waverley.

A Certificate II can give you a real advantage when applying for an apprenticeship, as you will already have skills and knowledge that potential employers will be looking for, and demonstrates your commitment to learning and the industry.
