The Certificate IV in Interior Decoration will prepare you for a range of interior decoration careers. Whether you want to decorate residential domestic interiors, retail interiors, commercial spaces or specialised rooms, this course will help you get there.

Course structure
To receive this qualification, you must complete 17 units in total, comprising of 7 core units and 10 elective units.
Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.
Full-time study program is delivered in 2 semesters. Each semester comprises of 17 weeks of delivery. An average weekly attendance is 20 hours per week over 3–5 days per week. Learners complete approximately 50% of the program in each semester, starting with foundation design skills in their first semester and progressing to more challenging skills and more complex briefs in their second semester.

Assessment
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Entry requirements
To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age and
Holmesglen requires that applicants attend a pre-training review to determine their suitability for the program.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will also be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
