Holmesglen to help bring education theme park to life

A new collaboration will see Holmesglen help showcase future careers to students at an immersive “edutainment” theme park in Melbourne called Dreamcity.

Dreamcity is a chance for primary and secondary students to experience different career paths through practical activities such as career pods and virtual reality.

Located at DFO South Warf, Stage 1, Dreamcity Popup is an Australian-first and includes five main areas, Science Lab, Tech Park, Engineering Zone, Maths Arcade, and Entertainment Zone.

Holmesglen will support the curriculum and pedagogy of the activities on offer, where young people can explore their ambitions and dreams.

"We are excited to collaborate with Dreamcity on this project and to offer new experiential education opportunities for young Melbournians. Learning is a lifelong activity and we believe that Dreamcity will be an innovative way that young people, parents and teachers get involved in education," said Philip Javier, Dean – Holmesglen Faculty of Education, Service Skills and Environment.

The partnership aligns with Holmesglen’s 2020 vision goals, specifically in the way it will develop skills, engage with industry and enrich the workforce.
