Library fines and charges

How we handle overdue and lost items.

Overdue items and fines

Late returns are subject to fines for borrowers and may lead to suspension of borrowing privileges for the borrower. Fines do not accrue on days the Library is closed. Fines for overdue items are:

  • 7 day, 14 day, 28 day, overnight, calculators and equipment
    • $0.20 per day
  • Academic Reserve (3 Hour Loan)
    • $0.20 per hour

Fines stop accruing from the day items are returned. If items are not returned, borrowers will be charged replacement and processing costs and overdue fines.

Lost items

Borrowers will be required to pay the replacement cost for lost items, as well as a $10.00 non-refundable processing fee per item and overdue fines. Failure to pay for lost or damaged materials may result in the suspension of borrowing.

Withholding of results

Borrowers who have fines of $20 or more will have their Brightspace and computer access blocked, and their results will be withheld.
