Frequently asked questions

You can start the application process right now by expressing interest. We’ll confirm your eligibility and if shortlisted, will book in a consultation to understand more about your aspirations so that we can ensure we can help you to achieve your goals.

We are able to offer free support to eligible people to help them start their new business through funding from the federal government Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

This includes helping you design a financially viable business model, including creating an operational, legal, financial and marketing plan, so you can launch your business with confidence and have the best chance of success in your venture.

Holmesglen graduates are strongly encouraged to explore this opportunity!

If your application is successful we will work with you for an eight-week period to build your business plan and get you in a position where you are ready to launch.

Through our StartUp Hub you will be able to access dedicated training and support and potentially gain a free accredited qualification (Certificate IV in New Small Business BSB42618).

In addition, you will have access to business mentors and administration/co-working support in the StartUp Hub to help you build your business.
We’ve worked hard to build a program that connects you with the kind of professionals that you need to make your idea a reality. This is all part of us helping you to learn more and do more.

The Hub is a physical, shared space at our Waverley campus. If accepted, you can access the Hub Monday to Friday 7am - 10pm and Saturdays 9am - 5pm.

You can bring your own devices and use our WiFi, hold meetings and use our shared administration services such as printing and postal services.

If you are a Holmesglen graduate or will graduate in the near future, you can apply – but spaces are limited.

At the time of application you will need to be studying or working no more than 25 hours per week (on average), or currently receiving income support from Centrelink (Services Australia).

To be considered you will also need to be committed to working the required hours to build your business.
