Studying the Certificate II in Salon Assistant at Holmesglen
You will learn client booking systems, salon services, shampoo and basin services, blow drying hair, treatment beds, hair applications, occupational health & safety and other related salon services.
At Holmesglen, we focus on making sure you have a strong customer-service approach when consulting with clients, so you're ready to walk into a job at your future salon.
This program has compulsory activities/materials as part of the learning experience. The department will confirm the cost of these activities/materials prior to your enrolment.

Timetable
Classes run Mondays and Tuesday, 9am - 4pm.
The classes are a combination of face-to-face on campus and virtual off-campus classes.
To receive this qualification, you must complete 12 units, which comprise of eight core units and four elective units.

Assessment
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Entry requirements
There are no pre-requisites to enter this course.
Prior to enrolment, you will need to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
