This course is designed to provide participants with basic gardening skills and information to design, establish and facilitate garden programs for special needs groups. This course also provides information on how gardens and gardening can improve the general health and wellbeing of the community.

Gardens and horticultural programs have been used for many years as a therapeutic tool in various settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centres and aged care centres. This course aims to give participants practical advice on how to run a Horticultural Therapy program. Sessions include practical activities, analysis of needs of different target groups, monitoring the program, adaptive tools and therapeutic design.
